“Onslaught” Review
All right, let’s begin with one of my favourite surprises of the year which is “Onslaught” and it’s releasing tomorrow in theatres!
I have my full review linked below on my podcast episode, which I hope you’ll tune in for. However, as I teased in my letterbox review, this is a happy collision of John Carpenter and Tobe Hooper in this horror, thriller, gory, and survival film led by Adria Arjona.
I had the chance to see it a few days ago and was utterly blown away by not only its runtime but the impressive usage of a low budgeted film that clearly understood the assignment of utilising every minute well. This phone could’ve felt corny or uneven, but it actually is very Kanny unique and is able to lower its audience in authentically through its pacing, screenplay and Arjona’s performance that anchors everything into place.
The ensemble cast really allows for Arjona to shine in this 92 minute runtime film and leaves the door open to seeing more of this type of venture from director Adam Wingard. Please comment on your thoughts below the film and I hope you tune into my light spoiler review and we have more reviews coming along in the next few days!
