Welcome to 2026! We’re here with the start of our Box Office Predications. This will be done on a weekly basis! I’ll be forecasting the box office office for every upcoming weekend in the box office. Whether awards season, summer season or blockbusters releasing left or right we’ll be going over the numbers!
This week we have leftovers of the holiday season. We have “Avatar: Fire and Ash” looking to have a steady left yet again. There’s a lack of new releases typically after the holiday weekends we’ve had and surely we’ll see James Cameron rule the box office once more.
Next we have “Marty Supreme” looking to have a potential splashy hold this weekend. It dominated with my accurate predication of a $17 million range for its opening weekend. This weekend we’re looking at a solid hold and potentially this film hitting yet again in the double digits for its second weekend. This will mark a huge victory lap for A24 studios.
Next is “Anaconda” in its second weekend. It’s debut landed close to last week’s predications and I think it’s hold won’t be as strong going into it’s second weekend. It can potentially slip into a high single digit range of $9 million, but we’ll see if it can hold stronger in the lower teens. Jack Black is a strong performer in the box office, but it’s not landing the strong day to day totals throughout this past week at the box office.
Lastly, we have “Zootopia 2” and its victory surge from last weekend. It’s most likely looking at another well-performing weekend. However, can it surge again? I have it in the lower teens range, but that means less than a 50% drop which is where I’m pegging this juggernaut of a film. It’ll break $1.5 billion this upcoming weekend, but can it get to $2 billion? Let’s not doubt it.
