Weekend nine! We’re heading into the trenches with “Scream 7” looking at mixed reception. We’ll see if it can land a similar debut in the $40 million range where I’m predicting it, but it’ll be a battle to overcome. Will be front loaded? My hunch is yes but we’ll see.
“EPiC” or “Elvis Presley In Concert” is going to 1,000 screen this weekend and Baz Lurhmann will be doing Q&A’s in NYC tonight and tomorrow. I’ll be attending tomorrow’s and melting at the helm! I’m beyond thrilled and as someone who’s seen the film three times…five by the time this weekend ends I can without a doubt say not only should you see it, but highly recommend it!
“GOAT” is looking at another strong weekend! It’s performing quite strongly and I think it’ll end up as a staircase franchise where it can only grow from here. We’ll see what the next steps will be for this property but I’m forecasting a strong shelf life.
Now, “Wuthering Heights” is in question this weekend because if it manages to have a a decent hold this weekend then it’ll easily cross into the $200 million worldwide category. I do think it’ll break even, but the question is how high can it go?
Lastly, we have the Actor Awards this upcoming weekend and my predications will be up by tomorrow, but my episode thoughts on Saturday. This will be a strong indicator where the Oscars will head so stay tuned!
Let’s see if my projections hit or do you have any further thoughts on where this box office can go?
Stay tune for the results and check out my predications!
