Box Office Analysis – Week 2

Second weekend of 2026! We’re in full swing with Awards Season! However, we have some amazing holdovers in the box office. Right now we’re expecting “Avatar: Fire and Ash” to dominate the weekend yet again, but can it’s drop stay under the 40% range so it can go surpass $1.5 billion?

We also have new releases for “Greenland 2: Migration” and “Primate” that are looking at debuting possibly in the single digits and having to battle off stronger performing box office hits such as “Zootopia 2” and “The Housemaid”.

One thing to keep in mind is that “The Housemaid” isn’t slowing down at the box office. It’s passed $100 million worldwide and it potentially eyeing a $200 million worldwide finish. This is a huge hit for Lionsgate Studios.

Next we have “Zootopia 2” that continues to have amazing legs in the box office and can potentially leap to $2 billion compared to “Avatar: Fire and Ash” where it’s moving at a slower pace.
